Population Modeling

Population Modeling

We work with mathematical models of macroinvertebrate populations in rivers, specifically focused on communities in the Colorado River below the Glen Canyon Dam. Our goal is to develop mechanistic models of macroinvertebrates that can incorporate information about temperature regimes, disturbance regimes, and density dependence assumptions. These models then can be used to describe population dynamics under novel environmental conditions and to help natural resource managers better understand the implications of future climate projections.
